Beach Photography

Last week I was supposed to be critiqued in class on my boat photography. I did not have any new boat pictures so I just grabbed a couple from the archives. For some reason three students' flash drives would not work on the teacher's computer. Well guess what? Mine was one of them. So I was not able to share my old boat pictures which I wasn't really that fond of anyway, but I was told to bring them back for next week in addition to my beach pictures.
I decided this gave me an extra week to find better boat pictures.
I also decided last night that it was the only evening I could get some beach pictures. I talked my husband into a drive to Westport last night. I did not think the conditions were going to be that great because rain was in the forecast. Amazingly when we arrived at the Twin Harbors State Park just before sunset the sky opened up and it was gorgeous. I couldn't have imagined better conditions.
I really was happy with what I had to work with and the final results. Now how do I narrow these down to just two to share?
I was so amazed at the different colors that were produced in the hour I was there shooting. I did use my tripod for many of the shots but I couldn't keep it level because it kept sinking in the sand. In fact a Rogue Wave came up and almost took my camera away!
I tried to do some long exposure shots but I just couldn't get it right. I guess I need to read up on it. I just figured you set your shutter speed in TV mode, use a remote and there you go. But my shots came out white. I have no idea what went wrong.
Enjoy. Let me know your faves. I will number them.
