Selective Color

I have been playing with selective color lately. I run an action from Coffee Shop Actions and on the Black and White layer I paint the color back in. There is a way to do it without the action but it is so much easier this way. I run the Barista Action then desaturate and paint color back in. You have to be careful with the size of the brush and opacity. I play with it a bit before I get what I like. Here are a few examples.

This photo is dedicated to my friend Selena who is battling Breast Cancer for the second time. She is so brave and strong.

For those who are curious I took 1., 4., and 5., to photography class. Number one was the hit. They loved the silhouette and the colors. The teacher thought I doctored the photo but I explained that it looked that way straight from the camera. He thought I burned around the edges, but I didn't. That is why I liked the photo also.

Testimonials

Thank you very much for fitting me into your busy schedule. I really appreciated it...and the pictures were amazing. Daniel, Me, and Little Daniel are definitely coming to see you for our family picture. Thanks! Rachel Merriweather, NC

I loved my experience with Melinda; I brought my daughter and son to her and
plan to bring the entire family to her next month. She was cheerful and had
some really great ideas but also let you be creative and use your ideas as
well. My daughter absolutely loves her pictures and we have gotten many
compliments on how beautiful they are. In that we have also given many
referrals to people who would love to have the same experience we had. I
highly recommend Melinda for any of your portrait needs!!
